Questions

How do I show the controls?

Tap anywhere on the scene except the sign. A small bar with Focus, Desk mode and Settings appears for a few seconds.

How do I change the clock format?

Tap the sign on the street to switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time and between °F and °C, or choose them in Settings.

What is desk mode?

Desk mode turns Skyline into a desk clock: the screen stays on, dims after 30 seconds without a touch, and the city moves by a pixel now and then so nothing burns in. Touch the screen to wake it. On iPhone Duo it turns on by itself when the phone stands half-open on a table; you can also turn it on all the time in Settings.

How does the focus timer work?

Tap Focus in the control bar. The sign counts down a focus session, then a break. On iPhone Duo, fold the phone or stand it half-open to run the timer, and open it flat to pause. On other phones, tap the sign to start or pause. Hold the sign to stop. You can change the lengths in Settings.

Why don't I see the weather?

Skyline needs an internet connection to fetch the weather, and refreshes it about once an hour. Without a connection it shows clear skies and leaves the temperature off the sign.

How do I get my city?

Skyline comes with Midtown, a city of its own that keeps your time. Real cities are one-time purchases in Settings › City. Buying any city also unlocks the widgets and the Focus Live Activity.

My city isn't there. Can you add it?

Ask for it in Settings › City, or on the home page. The most-requested cities get drawn first, and new cities arrive in app updates.

I bought a city. How do I get it on another device?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and choose Restore Purchases in Settings › City.

Does Skyline use my location or collect data?

No. It never uses your location, and the only thing it sends is a city request you choose to send. See the privacy policy.
