Skyline Privacy Policy

Skyline: Pixel City Clock · Effective October 16, 2026

Skyline does not collect personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. The only thing Skyline ever sends to the developer is a city request, and only when you choose to send one.

Location

Skyline never asks for or uses your location. Each real city has fixed coordinates. Midtown, the free city, keeps your time: it reads your phone's time zone setting and uses the coordinates of that time zone's main city (for example New York for Eastern Time). That happens on your phone.

Weather

To show the real weather, Skyline asks Apple's WeatherKit service (Apple Weather) for the current conditions at the coordinates of the city on screen. That request goes directly to Apple and contains no information about you. Apple's handling of these requests is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer never receives this data.

City requests

If you ask for a city, in the app or on this website, Skyline sends the city name you typed, your time zone (and, from the app, its two-letter country code and the app's version) to the developer's server, hosted on Google Firebase. The request has no name, account, email or device identifier, so it can't be linked to you. It is only used to count which cities people want.

To stop one connection from sending hundreds of requests, the server also sees your IP address. It keeps only a one-way hash of it combined with the date, which can't be turned back into the address, and deletes that hash within two days.

Data stored on your device

Your settings (clock format, focus timer lengths, desk mode) and the most recent weather are kept on your device so the app and its Lock Screen widget can show them. They never leave your device, except as part of your own device backups.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the focus timer schedules them on your device to tell you when a session or break ends. They are not sent from any server.

Purchases

City purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer receives no payment details and no personal information about you.

Children

Skyline is suitable for all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
